Position Summary
This position provides a great opportunity to work with a senior level management team to grow a business with exciting prospects, reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations. The Associate Director will act as a liaison between Nanomix employees, various outside manufacturing resources, internal and external customers. Facilitation of internal and external activities and development of tools directed toward profitable revenue growth.
Position Accountabilities
As the Associate Director, Manufacturing the position is responsible for coordinating internal and external manufacturing efforts.
Work together with the Product Development Group as products and processes are developed
Manufacturing process development, documentation, methodology, tooling, training and control
Automation and scale-up of manufacture, testing, labeling, and packaging process steps
Establish and manage contracted activities related to product design and manufacturing
Documentation of manufacturing batch records, and hands-on manufacturing as required
Vendor selection, approval, coordination, performance assessment, and inventory control
Identification, acquisition, installation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment
Establish product costing, performance metrics, cost reduction analysis and implementation
Document intellectual property as related to manufacturing processes
Responsible for facilities
Position Requirements
Education/Certifications
An undergraduate degree in Engineering is required, graduate degree preferred.
Industry Experience
In-depth experience with Manufacturing Engineering related to complex products is required.
Experience with semiconductor and thin-film manufacturing processes are strongly preferred.
Experience in an FDA regulated environment is strongly preferred.
Professional Qualifications
6+ years of relevant Manufacturing Engineering experience is required.
Experience with Nanotubes or Nanowires preferred.
A thorough understanding of:
Process development, automation, scale-up and control
Process documentation and quality systems
In-process and final product testing methodologies
Tooling and fixturing
Management of sub-contracted product design and manufacturing
Analytical approach to problem solving with strong decision making skills.
Ability to make things happen working with R&D, creating reproducible products through documented manufacturing procedures.
Excellent communication and listening skills, detail oriented, able to interact with senior executives, staff and users at all levels to understand their needs.
