What is Sensation Technology™?
Nanōmix Sensation technology™ is a nanoelectronic detection platform based on carbon nanotube networks. It consists of a tiny detector chip with one or more individually addressable detection elements, each capable of being independently functionalized to detect a specific target analyte. The unique properties of carbon nanotubes and Nanōmix’ proprietary manufacturing techniques create a device with low power consumption, small size, and high sensitivity -- the ideal platform for handheld and point-of-care detection products. Because Sensation™ utilizes random networks of carbon nanotubes instead of individually manipulated nanostructures, it benefits from manufacturing scalability—over a million detection chips have been manufactured to date. The detection devices work by monitoring the changes in the electronic characteristics of the device as it interacts with the analyte of choice. The carbon nanotube networks are coated or “functionalized” with different recognition chemistries to induce the proper performance characteristics such as specificity, sensitivity, dynamic range, and more.
