Applications include the following:

Asthma monitoring (NO)*:  Nanōmix Sensation™technology is enabling a new non-invasive device for asthma monitoring.  Asthma is an inflammatory airway disease that affects over 20 million people in the United States.  Until recently, there was no reliable and convenient way for patients to assess airway inflammation on a regular basis.  The Nanōmix asthma monitor is a small, inexpensive device that measures the level of nitric oxide (NO) in exhaled breath.   It provides a rapid, convenient measure of inflammation that could significantly improve the diagnosis and treatment of asthma.

CapLite™ Single-use Capnometer (CO2)*:  Powered by the Nanōmix Sensation™ platform, CapLite™ is a portable, single-use CO2 monitor for emergency airway management.  This device will fit in-line between the patient’s endotracheal tube and the resuscitator bag or mechanical ventilator to accurately measure the level of CO2 in each patient breath.  It can connect to standard airway circuits, ET tubes, masks, resuscitation bags, and laryngeal masks. This battery-powered device can be applied in hospital, pre hospital, and out-of-hospital settings to assist caregivers with:

  • Endotracheal tube verification
  • Breathing quality assessment
  • Intra and inter-hospital transport
  • Adequacy of CPR

Capnography (CO2)*:  The Nanōmix CO2 detection platform can be extended to a variety of other monitoring applications beyond emergency medicine:

  • Waveform capnography
  • Sleep apnea screening
  • Procedural sedation monitoring

Disease diagnostics and metabolic testing*:  Analysis of various respiratory biomarkers is an emerging field for Sensation™ technology.  Diseases such as lung or breast cancers, liver disease, gastrointestinal problems, and many others could potentially be diagnosed through trace chemicals in exhaled breath.  With high sensitivity and specificity, the Nanōmix platform is well-suited for such applications.
