Garrett Gruener
Executive Chairman and CEO
Garrett is a co-founder of Alta Partners, and was also a Partner at Burr, Egan, Deleage & Co., which he joined in 1992. He has more than two decades of experience in the fields of software development, systems engineering and corporate development. In 1982, he founded Virtual Microsystems, a successful communications software company that was later merged with a larger corporation. Garrett also founded Ask Jeeves, a leading Internet search engine. Garrett specializes in information technology and is on the boards of directors of several companies, including Ask Jeeves and Nanōmix. He earned a Masters Degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, San Diego, both in Political Science with a focus on technology policy. |

Dr. Marvin L. Cohen
Chief Scientific Officer
Professor Cohen is a preeminent figure in the field of theoretical condensed matter physics. He is a founding scientist of Nanōmix Inc. and also serves as a Senior Scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, a Fellow of the American Physical Society and the recipient of numerous scientific awards, including the National Medal of Science (2002) and the Foresight Institute Feynman Prize (2003). |

Scott Schroeder
Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Schroeder has over 15 years experience providing financial and administrative support to both private and public companies across a broad range of hardware and software products. After earning a BBA in Banking and Finance at Hofstra University, Mr. Schroeder obtained his MBA from Hofstra University with a focus in Accounting. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in California and several other states. Prior to joining Nanōmix, Mr. Schroeder was Vice President Finance at Luminous Networks, a privately held communications equipment company. He was Vice President Finance and Corporate Secretary at Brokat Technologies resulting from the acquisition of Blaze Software, where he supported a successful NASDAQ Initial Public Offering. Mr. Schroeder has also served in roles of increasing responsibility at Accugraph Corporation, Coopers and Lybrand L.L.P., and Dreyfus Corporation. |

William A. Perry
Senior Vice President, Business Development, Marketing and Sales
Mr. Perry brings extensive experience with more than 18 years in sales, marketing and business development for VC-backed growth companies, almost all of it specific to medical devices. Mr. Perry has been involved in multiple successful mergers and acquisitions and an IPO. Before joining Nanōmix, Mr. Perry held the position of Vice President, Worldwide Marketing and International Sales at VNUS Medical Technologies, Inc. Before VNUS, he served as Vice President of Marketing & Sales at EndoVasix, Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Perry served as Vice President at companies such as Influence Medical Technologies, Ltd., and Indigo Medical, Inc. Mr. Perry holds a B.S. from Georgetown University in International Politics with a concentration in International Economics, and a Masters in International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird). |

Dr. Ying-Lan Chang
Vice President, Platform Development
Dr. Chang has over 15 years of product development experiences, and holds a Ph. D. in Materials Engineering from UC, Santa Barbara, and a MS in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University. Prior to joining Nanōmix, Dr. Chang was Project Scientist at Agilent Technologies, leading the nanotube and nanowire biosensor applications efforts in the Molecular Technology Laboratory. Dr. Chang has also held Project Scientist positions in Agilent's Communications & Optical Research Laboratory as well as Hewlett Packard's Electronic Research Laboratory. She has contributed to over 25 patents, over 45 publications, and 70 conference presentations. She also serves as an organization committee member for the "Electrochemical Society/ Sensor Division". |
